Just picked up a ring lapping tool and measured it. Was supposed to be 30mm looked like it was about .085 larger than 30mm is this normal or should it be exactly 30mm ? Thanks gunny

Are you saying it is .085" bigger than 30mm? That would make it 32.17 mm or almost a tenth of an inch larger? I made up a 30mm lapping bar and just checked it with a set of rings and I can't see it being that much bigger? It wouldn't fit thru the rings. Richard

Initially i used a plastic Lyman caliper and got the first reading tonight i used a digital and got 30.11 mm on the mm scale i took the bar and placed it in a 30 mm ring bottom and one seemed to fit well the other appeared to have a little gap i wiggled it a bit and seemed to set a little better in the ring bottom. Reading caliper leaves room for improvement :-/Don
