Don.........As I advised you on the phone, with the way I have your rifle bedded, you really do not need one. They are nice for torquing scope mounts and rings and unbedded rifles. Mine is just a Craftsman beam type inch/pound deal. Any of the tool companies have nice "clicker" types but they probably run in excess of $100 (Mac, Matco, Snap-On etc.) I am sure a number of the companies that handle the Chinese imports have them cheaper like Harbor-Freight.com Richard

I agree with Richard that when a rifle is bedded with a third action screw and pillars precise torquing is not a necessity. Over many years I tightened action screws down firm on bedded rifles. On bedded rifles the torque on action screws are simply clamping the action a little or firm against the bedding. My theory is that the loose action screws are more likely to permit action movment seperate from the stock than screws that are tighten down firm.

The FAT wrench is handy and inexpensive, Brownells has their version out but is expensive. My favorite torque wrench is a Anschutz but only goes down to 25in/lbs and is marked in Newton/Meters. Fits in the kit box well and you can use it while the rifle is on the bags. Midway now sells these but the cheapest place use to be Champion Shooters Supply. As Richard said there are a bunch of Chinese ratchet style click types out there for less then $50 but a quality one runs in the $150-200 range.

Utica Tool offers an excellent inch pound torque wrench/screwdriver, with a lifetime warranty, for less than $100. It is built to military specs, and can be re-calibrated. Takes any quarter inch bit. They offer several models with different ranges. I have a mid range model TS-35, (good for 6-35 inch pounds) as I use it primarily for scope mounting. Accuracy & repeatability have been outstanding. Built in Orangeburg, South Carolina, here in the good ole USA.
