I was wondering if anyone could give me a good recommendation for a quality crossbow package. If I bought one I would need it set up ready to go with bolts, broadheads, scope, quiver etc. It would not be shot much, mostly a few targets, the occasional groundhog, and possibly a deer. Not getting this for myself, but a friend who has a need for something to safely and quietly dispatch groundhogs around the farm and who might use it to shoot a deer, but not likely. We are also considering a high powered airgun and have posted on the rifle forum about that. But it seems we need to consider all our options. I know there are alot of good cross bows out there and I see the packages that Bass Pro and other places like that have, and they seem interesting. But I know rifle packages are often not that good, as they put garbage scopes on them and I want to avoid any pitfalls if I can. I am not looking for the equivalent of a Cooper rifle, but maybe something akin in quality to a Rem 700 with a Leupold VX II. Any replies will be much appreciated. Thank you, Rman

You are right, there are many quality bows. One thing to consider will your friend have the strength to cock a 150 lb. or more pull. If not, they will need cocking straps or a winch type cocking mechasism. I have killed raccoons and squirrel with mine but the range has been under 30 yards. Ben
