FROM: www.ussportsmen.org//Page.aspx?pid=1850&srctid=1&erid=2192555North Carolina Legislation to Overturn Sunday Hunting Restrictions 2/11/09 A bill in the North Carolina legislature will allow the state to join the majority of other states that allow Sunday hunting without restrictions. Senate Bill 9, introduced by Senator Julia Boseman (D- Wilmington), would remove a longtime prohibition that has been set in state law since the 1800s. Currently, North Carolina is one of only eleven states to limit Sunday hunting. Seven states completely prohibit it, including: Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey and Connecticut. Four others have certain limitations including Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Currently, in North Carolina some limited Sunday hunting is allowed on federal lands. SB 9 would open it up completely.

I wish North Carolina the best of luck. They tried here in Delaware several years back at no prevail. That old blue law is a hard one to beat. Delaware did allowed the liquor stores to start selling on Sundays. The state figured it was loosing to much money on the sin tax to Maryland on Sunday. I reckon thats why hunting on Sunday did not pass, because Delaware could not figure how to make money off of Sunday hunters. Steve

There were a few counties in Michigan that still had those no Sunday hunting rules until a couple of years ago. I was at the capitol for the committee hearings when the laws came up to be repealed and the argument that was successfully used to get them moved out to the floor was landowners right to use his land as he saw fit. They were voted out and passed in the houses and the gov signed them opening these counties to Sun hunting.

FYI.The woman that introduced the bill is a lesbian. She also was on the side of sportsman last year when she helped with a bill that help boaters pull boats that were over 8'6" wide. She may be a lesbian and a democrat but she gets my vote.I vote Republican 95% of the time, but I vote not party lines but how the person represents my beliefs.I did not vote for Obama but it did not have anything to do with him being black or a Dem. but rather what his voting had represented in the past.Gun control, higher taxes, big government and abortion.Funny how most whites are labeled racist but 95% of the black vote went to Obama.Just imagine how whites would have been cast if 95% of the white vote had gone to McCain.
