I just picked it up today. The guy at Bass pro shop in Ashland was very knowledgeable except for one small thing. When I shot it at their range the only part of my arrow anyone can see is the noc and the very ends of the fletching. It has become a permanent fixture. Talk about a penetration test. Good advertising too ;D

Deadon
I see you took the plunge on a new crossbow that you inquired about earlier. Sounds like you are off to happy start. Like Harley I look forward to hearing about your experiences with your new acquisition.

I was just up there talking to those guys at Bass Pro. Can't wait to see a picture of that beast. Do you have a hand crank or do you just pull it back with a cocking rope? What is the draw weight?

Congratulations! I think you picked a winner. I look forward to hearing all the details. I saw a neat sighting device at the HHA website. Have fun with your new crossbow.

Thanks everyone ;D Doug, I cannot cock it buy hand. I can pull it within a couple of inches of cocking but, bad shoulders I bought a parker sidewinder and it works great. Got a story about the first time i cocked it withe the sidewinder. almost blew it. Russkull, I believe it is the optimizer SW uses, that you are referring to. Plan on maybe getting one when I can afford a new scope. sw has done all the testing for me and anyone else who wants a SF. All I have to do is listen and learn. I shot it when I bought it and it is deadon at 20 yrds. Hope to shoot it at 25, 30 and 35 yrds Tomorrow. Owning a new toy is pretty exciting.

Rusty, I'm glad you were able to get it. The HHA Optimizer works well.

Well here goes . Love the SF Xbow but the red dot scope ain't worth a C@#$ At over 30 yrds. I would like to know where the arrow is hitting at 40 and even on the lowest setting the light is too big.I was torn between the hawke SB 30 and going with the HHA Optimizer and a rifle scope. I tried the Xcal luma scope but the vertical lines did not work. Maybe the SF too fast. Someone told me it would work and I got good deal so I tried it. Soooooooooooooo I put an Optimizer under it and BINGO. Now with the cross hairs as a sight This bow Shoots better the my capabilities.Almost one hole at 20 yrds, one inch at 40 and a hair under 2" at 60. There is a definite time lapse between trigger pull and target impact at 60 yrds so hunting at that range is probably not possible but it sure is fun to shoot at longer ranges.I am going to make sure tomorrow morning that I have the optimizer properly calibrated , Then Back to work and thank God I have some to go to. Thanks to all for all the help, Rusty

Rusty, I'm pleased everything is working for you. How loud is the crossbow; i.e., you mentioned the time lapse at 60 yards? If a deer is stationary, preferably feeding with head down, you'll do fine unless the "twang" startles it.
I don't have any experience with the serrated blades, but am certain no serrated blade will penetrate as well or cut as clean as a back-swept single-surface blade.
Hope you get your pictures up; I want to see this setup at all angles.
