Sunday, while I was shooting my 50 Thumbhole, a fellow gun club member arrived to sight in a KP-1 in 45-70. It looked fabulous, and felt nice to hold. I was impressed! The problem started when he fired his first round. The trigger group fell out on the bench. His first thought was that the latch wasn't snapped in solidly, but the same thing happened on the next two shots. Upon inspection, the latch looked like it was operating properly, and the spring tension was pretty stiff, but there wasn't much of an overlap of the latch on the catch. The shooter wasn't sure if his trigger finger was hitting the latch release under the pretty hefty recoil, or if the recoil alone was un-latching the thing. I thought perhaps some of you had heard or read about this problem, thus this post? I wasn't certain where to post, so feel free to move if necessary. Boarhog

Don, That's what I told him. He thought Knight was gone completely, but I told him I thought I read that they still had a warranty service dept.

It never hurts to try to do a good deed. I called the KP-1 guy and gave him the info. We had a nice conversation, and before I knew it, he had invited me to join him on a Striper fishing trip! YeeeHaaww!

I was having a problem with a trigger group, but mine was that it would misfire on everything except my 45-70. I finally sent it to Branch, with a note (Sam from the centerville operation said to just send it with a note) Branch gave me a call, discussed the problem with me, sent me a different trigger group and haven't had a problem since.
