Sometimes when I get lazy cleaning my rifle, I spray oil on the barrel, then wipe the excess off with a rag. I know that some of the oil runs down under the barrel and gets on the wooden forearm. Is this oil harmful to steel bedding? Thank you!!!

It shouldn't be. One of the early materials that was used for bedding was Bisonite, worked good but was found out to be ate by bore solvents. I wouldn't worry about oil unless you had a straight wood stock that you didn't have fully sealed under the barrel.

I was taught that the best way to seal exposed wood under the barrel is Super Glue. Good or bad info?

My stock is walnut, hand rubbed with boiled linseed oil. No other sealer.

Never heard the super glue method. Linseed oil or tung oil is the time honored methods. You mainly seal it against moisture entering the wood. Other oil may not enter it but then you have to worry about some solvents. What you have to worry about with oil is it getting underneath a bad bedding job as the wood sucks up the oil and swells a bit.
I have to do a couple of laminate stock refinishes, I'm debating whether to do the Waterlox or go over the edge and do a two part polyurethane.
