I know that changing the scope paralex changes the point of impact. very important to know for a hunter. Does changing magnification change anything except field of view?

On a quality scope changing magnification should not alter the point of impact. Paralex is usually set correct at 100 yards. Note the word usually. I don't believe we have scopes that are paralex free at all ranges today. In the future they may come up with the solution but if the shooter looks directly down the center of the scope it shouldn't matter. At least that is how I see it. But I am no authority on this one.

Parallax changes with range and does not actually change POI but does make your cheek weld/eye position more critical. If your behind the scope and move your head and you see the crosshairs move in relationship to the target that is parallax. Some guys have gone to the point of sculpting their cheek rest to fit their face to insure proper cheek weld. Of course a AO or side focus helps correct also.
Changing the magnification of the scope should not change POI very much. However, you have to remember your going thru like 9 lenses and collomation (basically the alignment of the lenses during assembly) is critical. I know one smith that had a scope mount on like an anvil just to test scopes.
