I thinks that the BFG line of cartridges would make perfect Cast Boolit launching platforms. I might just have to make a 500bfg, already have a 3 cavity NOE 512-500 FN mold ;D I even have a 26" 416 SS 1x24 barrel in the rack.
Deadeye, just look what you might have started asking a simple question.
The 358 and 458 look egualy fun, Oh Crap man, I have an un-chambered .458 1x15, 26" barrel in the rack also, it i even pre fit for a M700
I am in trouble now. ;D

screwbolts- im guessing you to be my 50bmg soulbrother ;D ;D the cartridge 35wssm is a very interesting one with ballistic's somewhat similiar to the 7mm without the bc of course, this became legal here in indiana, weird looking at this cartridge the bullets is larger than the case let alone what the 500 would look like, great minds think alike! ;D ;D

If you've got a BFG - I should have sent you my starting data, as well some customer data that I've been fed back from the field.
If you've got a generic 358 WSSM - measure your chamber throat length and I'll work on some starting loads for you.

fireball168-my chambers has not been cut yet as im mulling over some load data that i got elswhere. from what im reading my 1/12 twist ,might be better for 200gn+ & maybe even better down range w/225 sierra's & or 225 accubonds.just taking my time at this point. what are your general recommendations w/1/12,please remember im looking at long range aspect mainly.the loads which are mainly w/imr4895& imr4320 seem to to be very good job speed wise. the data that i received as far as speed there was not an advantage w/180gn-200gn bullets with other powders.of course im all ear's! thx

I've found no measurable advantage to using a 12 twist for the projectiles that will commonly be used in the BFG.
I suppose if you were planning to use some of the heavy Woodleighs, it might not be a bad idea.
I'd caution you to be quite careful with the load data you may find on the internet. The last time I inquired, there were no less than 17 different variations of the 358 WSSM. Some with no throat/freebore whatsoever(for .357 projectiles), to those with .175" or more. A load for the latter chamber sure isn't going to like the first.
BLC-2, RL-10X, 748 and Varget are commonly among the most accurate powders.
