Here in Wisconsin during the muzzleloader season you can only use 1X scope . Any recommendations for a good 1X scope? Thanks in advance

I use a Bushnell Holosight on my slug gun. It has 1MOA center dot and 65MOA Circle with crosshair hashmarks. I can shoot less than 2" groups at 100yrds with it. I also put it on my AR for coyote hunting in the thick stuff. It's great for quick action. Because there is no magnification you can use it with both eyes open, the dot seems to appear downrange on the target. Your head position doesn't matter as there is no paralax. I also put it on my Ruger Mark 3 sometimes, its a blast on it! Just an option for you and one thats more flexible than most. You can get year round use out of it. It's one of my favorite sights. Oh yea, when I take off the slug barrel and put on the turkey barrel it's good to go. Makes dialing into the pattern very easy.

Glad this subject came up. I have 13 points for the Utah elk draw and as often as not put in for one of their elk ML seasons. Utah only allows the use of scopes with 1x mag during ML seasons and I often thought what 1x scope if I'm drawn would I get. I have looked quite allot in the past and not many companies make 1x only scopes.
Any others besides Nikon?

Another option is Thompson Center. They list a 1X scope with a 32mm objective lens that should be good in low light conditions. The eye relef is listed at 3.8 inches. The catalog number in the 2008 catalog is#8958.

Tkanks all for the replies. I did some snooping around and found the Nikon 1 X 20 at Natchez for $120. However it is a refurbished scope. Can I be comfortable buying a refurbished scope? What exactly do they do to them and why would they need it? Are they used scopes or just factory defective? Would it affect a warrantee? The price seems good, but I don't know if refurbished scopes are best steered clear of. Thanks again

DhnMN thanks, I forgot about the T/C scope. Unloaded the only drawback I can think of to buying a Nikon refurbished scope is they only come with a limited warranty who's exact length time I forget, but I think it is no more than and probably less than a year from DOP. I read about this Nikon warranty info in a post at another website so this info may not be accurate, but it is something I suggest you confirm as true or not before you buy.
Arthur.
