I would like some help. I have the opportunity to buy an slightly used Meopta Meostar 3-10x50 for $275. The scope looks clean and seems to be extremely clear. Have any of you members had any experience with these scopes? Do you think this is a deal or should I just buy one of the Weaver Classic Extremes (if they have left)? Thanks in advance for your input.

The Meostar has great glass and is a deal at that price. However good luck with customer service from Meopta. I have heard that they are getting better but in times past the company hardly understood the concept of warranty. Here is a thread of some discussions on Meopta scopes. opticstalk.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1808&KW=meostar&PID=167359#167359

You are most welcomed. If you feel that the scope is in good working order and you are sure that it holds zero then I would jump on it at that price.

I think I got a better deal! Found a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44mm at Gander Mountain today. It was.... well let's say about the same cost as a Nikon Monarch. Didn't really ever figure I would be able to ever have a piece of glass of that quality on my 10ml! I guess the hunting gods were looking after me this morning!

You did good I think. Zeiss has just gone up on the cost of the conquest. Sounds like you got a good deal.

To farmallm51: I also think as dougedwards mentioned that you should be happy with the Zeiss. I bet you do not like green tractors though with your name.

mshm, Got to agree with you. Ours are fine running pieces of equipment. Amazing how well they work considering there age! We use them to work ground as well as in parades and at shows. Alot of work to clean'em up after working them.
