This stud was chasing a doe. The doe led him to his doom.... Short story: I made a "blahhhhh!" sound and stopped him at 20 yards broadside, but some small canes obscured a totally clean shot. I tried to manoeuvre a shot thru the stuff but my arrow flew high. I am wayyyyy up in a tree and they didn't see me as I put on my cocking rope, recocked and reloaded my x bow. He was now broadside at 38 yards. And there was a decent window to shoot thru. So.........twhack! It's 4:10 pm. I hear pile up I think. I do something stupid and shimmy down the tree and slip over to where he was. Blood everywhere!!!! Bright red...no smell...or funk of any kind. I begin trailing. He dies approx 45 yards from impact spot. Get this: NO VITAL ORGANS ARE TOUCHED!!!! I severed the aorta. My arrow hit the front left shoulder and comes out at low mid chest. I carefully examine the heart and lungs. The arrow never entered the chest cavity!! Not touched. I have never seen such a massive blood trail!!!! 125 grain Thunderheads have got your back! I'm proud of the little seven point.

:)Congratulations! I like my SM also. You may have noticed my son's kills are usually in the back of a Toyota truck, with a Saf Mag , and our Golden. He also uses 125 Thunderheads. Red Hots by chance?
