I am thinking of replacing the red dot on my crossbow with an ACOG. I think the 4x mag will help in low light and no batteries. Thoughts??

I don't know anything about that scope, but when the "red dot" scope went bad on my Parker CB,I mounted a Excalibur Vari Zone scope on it. I simply love this scope,it's easy to setup. At first I thought it wouldn't gather light well, but it does extreemly well. Ron www.excaliburcrossbow.com/demo/m/content/article.php?content_id=98

I use a Sitetron 2 3X12 42 mm mil-dot scope. If you desire to shoot long range, this really helps - 11 marks for ranges. It is brighter than every x-bow scope I've tried, including the "exhalted" Hawke MAP and SR scopes. A new Hawke is coming after the first of the year that may well be the answer.

Here's the latest information on that Hawke scope, SW. It will probably go on my next Scorpyd crossbow next year. www.crossbownation.com/community/showthread.php?t=5765

www.crossbownation.com/community/showthread.php?t=5793This is what I've been wanting. This, as you know, allows the usage of any scope with any reticle design. So far, my WCE scopes are the best I have. As big as they are, I do not have trouble using one on my Parker Saf Mag and may use one on the SF with this dial-a-range until I come up with a more practical sized scope. I will also check to see just how good my Weaver K-4 32mm scope is, light gathering wise. There seems to be a good selection of 20-36 mm scopes out there, both single and multi-power that would work well. The new Hawke, at $280, will really have to have seriously improved glass for it to interest me. I like the specific dial-a-range yardage but would rather have no extra movement and 10 yd marks if the optical quality was very good. Most of my deer sightings, especially now, are in the twilight. I have it on good authority that the new Hawke with 20-60 yd markings, yet with a max speed setting of 350'/sec , does quite well with a SF shooting at 388 '/sec with 425g arrows, when set at 30-70 yds.
