Has anyone used the elevation compensator (turret) on the 2.5-10 WCE. I was wondering if it could be used for hunting situations in place of a ballistic plex reticle. There were no instructions with the scope about this feature. Mine is mounted on a Savage ML. Thanks

I think like most scopes that have a re-settable turret, once you know your drops at different ranges it's just a matter of dialing up the reticle to the proper setting at each range.
I'm not at the stage where I've messed with this at all, but I plan to at some point. For me, where I hunt, 200yds is about the longest shot I'll get and it hasn't been necessary yet.

I'm not one for dialing a scope. It gets you in trouble when you forget where your dialed in for the last shot. They make scopes with the re-settable turrents and even with a zero stop. I have to admit making a 800-1000yd shot with a 10X scope it is tough estimating your holdover/windage with most reticles.
I've been to tactical matches where you had to engage 4 targets at different ranges within 1 minute from the go signal. You got points for less time but heavily penalized if you busted time. Guys would "dial in" for each shot and couldn't understand why they went over time. I have seen guys dial in 1 or 2 MOA of windage for a follow-up shot instead of just adjusting the sight picture and getting the shot off quickly.
My signature zees should be here tomorrow to mount my 2.5-10X56 WCE on my 10ML.
