Have a new toy this year but haven’t really formed an opinion yet to its advertised effectiveness because of short time usage. Anyone have experience with this light? Would enjoy hearing your comments. Ed

We've had a member in our camp who tried one of these as well as the foaming spray bottles of blood detectors. In the end the best bet was to call a member with better eyes to help us track. Our problem may have been that we just couldn't see well enough anymore to begin with. Note to self: buy some weaker reading glasses that I can see the ground with. Glasses on I can't see that far.....Glasses off I can't see that close.

theirs still nothing better then a lantern with white gas i dont think the tracking light is any diff then just plane led lights i also think just the older flash light bulbs that shine a more yellow light works better

I have one of the smaller Predator Blood Lights. It has not proved all that useful in the real world. It does cause red to "Light" up, but that includes red leaves, grass, etc. This also includes reddish browns and reddish yellows. Since having it, I honestly have not needed to put it to a serious test. That being the type of blood trail where you are crawling on hands and knees, searching for tiny dots of blood every 10 feet, or so. I have doubts that the "Blood Light" will be much help then. My Step son swears by a high output LED spotlite that looks more like those newer auto headlights, he says is as bright as daylite. I'll have to ask him brand and source.

Guys
Thanks for the responses and comments.
Kevin I have also been told that gaslight like a Coleman lantern really shows blood at night and on leaves. Haven’t tried it yet so I can’t confirm but it came from what I call a reliable source.
As for this Primos Mini Bloodhunters Light I haven’t really had a chance to do any tracking with it. The Red light works well for close range viewing and the Green light blew me away with the brightness & range it displayed. Just for the heck of it I shone the green light on blood and it made the blood black and I mean distinguishly a dark black.
Well I own it now and will have to try a few experiments in my free time. Surprisingly we never had a night tracking job on the hunt this year. Hopefully next year I will be able to use it to find a downed deer and not a cripple. And it wouldn’t break my heart to never use it for night tracking either if the down deer is close by.
