I'm thinking about adding a .223 to my arsenal. The new marlin bolt action caught my attention, but doesn't look like they'll be offering it in .223. Unless that changes, I'm now between an H&R ultra varmint single shot and the Savage 25 varminter. I like the simplicity and look of the H&R, and guys at the H&R forum at graybeard say they shoot itty bitty groups at range all day long. Plus, it's about half the cost of the Savage and I can get other caliber barrels for it pretty cheap. I really like the look of the Savage though. If I ever get into a dog town, the multiple shots could come in handy. Same thing with yotes. Downside is it will always be a .223 since I don't believe you can swap barrels on these like the 110s, and the extra money I spend on it would buy a scope for the H&R. Anyone have any experience with the Savage? Can't find much info on them other than the normal press release type stuff. Thanks
