I have traveled to several areas in my home state of Virginia to discover that the acorns have not dropped from the oak trees yet. Has anyone else noticed this occurance (or non-occurance) in your state. I have found a few pin oaks dropping acorns but the white and red oaks are almost bare.

They have been dropping here for a while. The deer have been chowing down big time at a nearby golf course for the last two to three weeks.

Here in AR the acorns are falling heavily. Deer are getting fat and my yard is covered with them. Most of the ones around me are red oaks. The size seems to be a bit smaller than usual, but there is no shortage of them.

Acorns have been droppin here in So. Illinois for about 2 weeks as well. The nuts aren't as plentiful as last year. Maybe since we had such a bumper crop of them last year.

I have 5 white oaks on my city lot and have not seen one acorn this year from them. Last year the ground was completely covered with acorns where the trees are.

This is the best acorn production year in three or four years in Western Maryland. They are everywhere and most of them are on the ground now. Bowhunting last week and you could watch the deer chewing on acorns as the made their way through the woods, no leaves rustling as they walked or any other noise just them feasting on this years plentiful bounty.
