Last year I had 4 does hanging out around the house which became 6 at the start of gun season. My neighbor around the corner bagged 4 of them and I guess the other two decided this wasn't the best place to be. This year I have two bucks that I have been seeing at least once a week. The antlers are really starting to grow. These are some photos that I snapped a few hours ago, The one with his head down in the first photo I think has the best rack developing but the one to the left and in the second photo isn't going to be a slouch. Now it will be interesting if they stay in my AO when the rut comes close. If one claims this as his territory will he bring his does here? It will be interesting to see how things develop. Last year at this time I seen a buck on the property and never seen him (at least showing himself) again but the does stayed. I'll try to keep the photos coming showing antler development and updates on what they are doing.

This is one from my front yard Monday evening. Unfortunately I found one of them dead on the road this morning. Apparently shot buy a Buick. Not sure what caliber that is nor if it was smokeless.

I had them in the binos before I got the camera. It will be neat to watch these two fill out and hopefully watch their behavior as the rut approaches. They are putting on antler mass pretty fast. I may put a mineral lick in the woods behind them in the photo. When this photo was taken they were only about 165yds from the front porch.

The two does I photoed were a similar distance. I seldom see bucks where I live, but often see nice does and have seen a number of young fawns this spring. Bucks/Does/Fawns, they are all fun to watch and I really hate to see them become road kill.

Just to update you guys I seen the bucks one more time about the last of July. The racks really grew out more forward and they were looking like solid 10 points. I didn't get a chance to get binos or a camera on them. The son-in-law seen one of them about a mile from my house about a week later and said it was at least a 10pt. I think the farmer that owns the land behind me seen them too. He was out earlier this week clearing lanes and mowing with a push mower around a tree for his tree stand about 100yds from where they were at when I took the picture. Saturday is the start of bow season and the farmers are already starting to harvest soybeans.
