Anybody ever use H108 Mil-surp powder? I have in the past and it worked out pretty good, but now I face a challenge. H108 is much like H110 but it is about 13% faster. I have taken H110 data for the 180gr bullets in 44 mag and reduced it by 13% and had excellent results. Full power H110 loads with 180's run about 1600 fps from a 7.5 in barrel in the 44 mag. Reducing the H108 13% also yielded 1600 fps. Accuracy was good and no signs of excessive pressure noted on primers or extraction. Now here is my problem. I am getting ready to do a run of 240 gr JSPs for my Marlin lever gun. I don't have any H110 and have an 8lb jug of the H108. I would like to get the same velocities as H110 with full house loads. However I have concerns with the heavier bullet. Since the powder is significantly faster then H110, reducing the charge 13% will likely result in lower velocities and pressure will likely be higher. Am I off here in my assessment? Sure would like to hear from some RKI's on this subject. Thank you, Rman
