so just a thought, I have a LEE REAL mold that throws a bit big, wondering if it would work to cast them with center fire type lead then size down to .452-.455 range and run in a 10ML-2 in a black mmp? open to thoughts, I have literally tons of lead that could be used!
Thank you in advance

Might be hard for the sabot to "grip" those rings on the real style bullet, not much surface area, just me thinking out loud

they are over diameter so planning to size smooth, just me thinking outloud too, also may have a friend make me similar mold with a more pointed design

I have some already cast, I can size and see where I land for weight, I want to stay in the 250-275 grain area, if they come up lite I can always use the handles and plates and have my friend make molds so I come out in that range with smooth sides, with a longer bullet, then size and try, I am only out a little beer and time!

I like to tinker around with odd stuff too, if you can get a mold made I would try it for sure, I know I had issues with 240/250 jacketed bullets not being enough pressure to get my 50 smokeless to ignite with regular sabots, it would do it with a 300 because of longer bearing surface. But I'm really interested in if this works now cuz I have a 45 lee real mold and that's just another option in the tool box

I forgot to mention mine is a 50 cal mold, I am afraid that sizing will make them to lite, will try a couple and see, I am thinking pretty hard about having my buddy custom make a mold, I have a sketch going, it would a flat base pointed bullet, going to shoot for dropping around .460 then size to .452-.453, the trick right now is figuring out how long it need to be to land at the 250-275 grain mark.

ive shot as hard as 40 to 1 saboted with no problems . The bullets obturated inside the sabot so accuracy was good . I dont believe id push that light of a bullet very fast however as its going to have overexpanding issues when it hits hair . Just sayin.. ...

Just sayin.. ... makes total sense, just playing with ideas, have lots of not pure PB, anything from WW to unknown, good load seems to push 26-2800 FPS for the weight, may be to fast for the cast bullets though
