No apologies needed. I have a box coming and want some input on that subject. Data on this site show 68-72 grains of RL7 behind the 250 FTX. This is a .451 or .452 bullet. The harvester sabot I use is the red high pressure as they call it. The monoflex is, as you all know, is a homogenous bullet of .458 diameter. BCR sabot or new orange sabot will be used. Do you feel I can use the FTX data developed here? thanks dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/thread/10954/tginpa-pressure-trace-data-thread

May be just the ticket for the .50 barrels, but waaaaayy too hard to full form size for .458 barrels. I have about 48 out of a 50 count box that I will never use. With the plastic tip, they cannot be annealed.

Loads are basically designed to accommodate bullet weight that governs resulting pressure.

76 grains is a HOT load. How's recoil?

What gun are you using? Got ant pictures of it? And what barrel is on it? I have a Stevens 200 45cal I did years ago. I think I had the first lugged 209 bolt head. Al got the demissions of the 223 bolt head and sent me the finished one. And I have been using for years still the same as new.

Dave Bruno of Dayton , Pa installed a 3RD screw and the brake. Savage should have left the lugs on all their bolts!!!!!!!

If you use the new stile breech plug the uses a socket you can remove it out of the open bolt.

good to have options. I prefer the 3RD screw I have now. That's make two of us preferring the 3rd screw. The fit of receiver to stock is never disturbed until a full teardown is needed.
