I have been using Fury 0.458 Star Tip 2s full formed and have had great accuracy and hunting success with them. Unfortunately there isn't anything but 0.452 bullets on the Fury, Parker, Pittman websites at this time. While I have a supply of Remington, Hornady, and Nosler 0.458s does anyone have a suggestion for a source and brand of tipped 0.458 bullets similar to the ST2 suitable for full forming? Thanks Bill

Have you tried to full form .452 bullets, I have had success with these on the same setting as my .458 bullets. If you're concerned with a better seal use a wool or fiber wad. just a thought. bullets are really scarce ( especially here in the Great White North) I managed to get some Remington .457 JHP and ran them thru my spitzerizer die.

Would the 300 gr BO be a candidate?

I have run a couple of .452s through my full form die. Wasn't impressed with the engraving however, I didn't shoot any yet. That you have had success is very encouraging. I still have some of your bullets so I'll give them a try. I always use a 0.060 veggie wad, it was a learning step when I started full forming and I've stayed with them.

Would the 300 gr BO be a candidate? BOs should work, though I've never tried them. I've heard of others having success with them.

BO's have been my choice for more years than I care to remember. I have never recovered a bullet no matter what angle, front to rear ,side to side. Most DRT or 50 yards or less. Sometimes they are hard to find . The 300 Rems shoot pretty much to the same point of aim. Good for sighting in. Good accuracy. Impact, blood, like CSI crime scene . BO a bit more aero dynamic. Been using MLII for 23 years. Tried all kinds of bullets. BO is the best for my purposes. And while we are here, the 240XTP will blow up if it hits shoulder bone. I know. 240 Gr T/C SST are not bad. They are bonded. The Hornady version is not and shucks the jacket explosively. That's my 2 cents

I've shot a bunch of the Rem 300 and like Smokeeter I run them through a die and top punch to close the large hollow point and reform as a round nose. Hopefully a little better aerodynamically and the bullet doesn't act like a grenade on impact.

The BO abbreviates the case volume to the extent of making it's design anemic Reeder followed suit of Joe Apache and then some using the 204 Ruger brass with his Raptors The velocity of the 30 Raptor is not limited by such case capacity Sorry, guys, I misinterpreted the meaning of BO It's intended to mean Barnes original not Blackout
