Hello all - Im from the Northern Neck of Virgina right at the mouth of the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay - Ive shot a little bit of everything but come seeking knowledge and wisdom on muzzleloading - BP and smokeless. I have a Remington 700ML S/S that I picked up a few years back that has never shot reliably (im thinking the 209 nipple is the problem) and I am currently thinking about going to a smokeless or possibly building one.
Thanks, James

Welcome to the board!
A few years ago, I converted a couple 700ml's to smokeless. It was then easy enough that even I could accomplish it. Most builders have gone to CF conversions and it is more difficult to find the needed conversion parts for the 700ml, but is still doable.

I spoke with Luke a few years back and was going to do it but things got busy and never got around to it -- was trying to find his email and see what all he had listed as needed items but it seems like it either was deleted or removed by the system. Its a good feeling gun and I would love to convert it - maybe even shorten it up a touch - maybe to like 22" overall with a brake - maybe even go down to 40 caliber. From my research it seems converting a Savage CF may be easier for a novice like me with the added advantage that I could take the 7mm-08 barrel from the donor and install it on my Striker (with a bit of shortening up and a muzzlebrake)
