I like to cast bullets. I used to have a 45/70 and I may still have a couple of .458 RCBS moulds, but if not then I could buy one. I was thinking about using them in an orange MMP for deer. When I cast for the 45/70 I used a hardish alloy and water quenched them, but I would probably be better off to go soft if using these in a sabot.
Any experience with this?

I actually run them full form in my Brux .458 barrels and they do well in 50 cal sabot ML-II.
I run them as Hardball not soft. My personal experience is soft lead pushed hard will grenade. 2700 FPS ish speed.
