I know Slufoot's 17 gr Blue Dot load is a proven low recoil load. I have no Blue Dot but do have Red Dot and Hodgdon Clay's on hand. Can either be used as a single powder for a low recoil load?

Red Dot was #9, Clays #12, Blue Dot #62 on the burn chart I looked at. Those two powders are pretty fast. I did see one pressure trace for 16 grains of Red Dot with a 200 grain SW in a sabot, looked like high pressure of 32200psi, for low speed 1883fps.

I would be very hesitant to use such a fast powder.

Thanks. Guess I will stick with N110.
