I can't tell you how many times I have seen the question on here, "What is the best optic for my rifle?" and the millions of answers about what each guy bought. This past Black Friday I bought two scopes from SWFA and Cole loned me the other so I could test them all side by side. It took me a couple of months to have the time to do it but it's done. I think these are the best riflescopes out there for any budget under $1200: good glass, good reticles, solid adjustments, rugged.

I spent hours reading and watching reviews about scopes before I narrowed it down to the Razor HD and the SS HD. I could have gotten the Razor at a little less money from a friend than the SS HD at full price but I am not a fan of the brown scope on a black action gun and I don't need or want illumination, just something else to break or go wrong in my opinion.
If I could combine the features of the Bushy ERS/DMR and the SS HD, it would be the perfect scope for me. Combine the zoom range, tube dia., and turrets of the Bushy with the SS HD glass, reticle, reputation, and price, what a scope you would have. I second your opinion, at the $1000 price point, I think the SS HD is the cream of the crop.

Nice job on the testing Keith. The tall target test tells a whole bunch about how scopes will perform in the field. Thanks for checking them out.

Which line of Sightron scopes is the SS HD comparable to? How do you think they compare?
