:)alright guys here's your chance to convert.i talked to my buddy pete at pa machine and in the next couple weeks he will be making edges super duper 45acp plug.i told him to make a run of 15 so if you think or are going to build one i would jump on one because after this run i don't know how long it will be for the next run.i think 4 are already spoken for.also he will be making more savage plugs and some with a hex instead of the standard 4 prong.i told him it was about time ;D.
:)here's pete's #610-923-9234.
:)edge designed the plug to use 45 acp case's which eliminates the need for some kind of primer holder on a centerfire action.here's a pic:
order a dd remington 700 ml barrel from pac-nor(make sure you tell penny what size lug you will be using the standard is for a 1/4" lug) and it will be chambered for this plug.then get some acp cases uniform the primer pockets and check the web thickness on them and seperate.put one on your bolt and close it it won't because the nipple is going to be long(on purpose).then take the plug out and file alittle of the nose off at a time(use calipers)untill you get a nice snug fit and your done.pete's plug will not have the primer pocket for 209's it will just be a 1/8" hole for the use of large rifle mag primers that you will prime your cases with.goodluck
:)olegburn just send your action to pac-nor and when the barrel is done they will screw it on for you for probably pennies.if you plan on getting flutes they will need to time it on your action.
:)bud you can jump in anytime if it wasn't for you my guns would just be a thought.thankyou

Please Tell me more about this plug. I have a couple of old or neglected S/A Remington rifles that I would love to convert over to a .40 and .45 smokeless muzzleloader
