Well i finally got time to shoot some more after some busy months. I am running a savage 10ml2 50 cal with 42gr of 4759, 250 gr sst with black short mmp sabot. Curious on ballpark fps and if i should go up some on load?

Around 2300 fps. You might get away with a grain or two more before you reach sabot tolerance.

42 or 43 grains seems to be the sweet spot from what I've seen.

43.5 gives me around 2130fps so I would guess between 2000 and 2100 fps.If this is using the plastic jug. The old lot numbers were somewhat faster in fps. All of the rifles I have set up I use 43.5 grs which is very accurate out to 300 yds. Years ago when using the old lot number and 47.5 grs I got around 2450 fps.But with the new lot it dropped to around 2250 fps. Using those big 250 gr bullets the speed don't have to be high to kill deer out to 300 yds'
