To start with you must acknowledge God and accept his Son as your Savior. You must also recognize salvation is a gift from God and can’t be earned.
If your belief rests on your existence as a cosmic role of the dice then you are just a part of the ecological system of a planet. This I can’t accept because this universe and life on this planet is by design done so well it could not happen by chance.
When you acknowledge God you also acknowledge the existence of Satan who will try and destroy your relationship with God with temptation of every sin possible.
God gave us free will for our lives to choose the direction we desire to go. Here I have often made mistakes and realize afterwards I have sinned against God. God hates and separates Himself from sin but His love is so strong for us that He made the greatest sacrifice so that we can have atonement for our sins that in turn would allow us to have a continued relationship with Him and eventually be welcomed to join Him and other believers in heaven.
A question I once had was, why did a perfect God make such a flawed creation as mankind and the existence of Satan? It was some time after accepting Christ that I found my answer in the Word of God and it is not a flawed creation. Here too I learned that God will only reveal answers when you need them. To know needed answers you need to be close to God in a relationship with Him through His Word.
As my journey through life continues I always have freedom choice and my choice is already made that I won’t alter. A scripture that is a solid reminder for me of what is to come;
“One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus Christ is Lord.”
Simply put, all souls ever created will simultaneously appear before Christ. Those that have accepted Him will appear cleaned from all sin because of the sacrifice Christ made for us.
One of the hardest parts of going through life with God is when we are faced with difficulties and heartaches that seem devastating. There are times we question our faith that a loving God allows this to happen to one of His children because He is in control. Here I have learned to trust God and feel drawn even closer to him instead of blaming Him for what is happening. I will be the first to admit that I don’t understand what God is doing at times but know whatever it is it serves His purpose that in the end will benefit us. Also I can say that I’m going through one of the worst times in my life.
I will admit walking with God has a narrow path and I struggle with my sinful nature at times but knowing a loving and forgiving God encourages me to return to that narrow path when I stray is reassuring to me.
