I got some of the 250 tez to try also.100 yds 45 cal I have 2 45 cal,one savage with pac-nor barrel and one rem with pac-nor barrel. I sized 12 to try Tuesday,I have size the for them to go down both barrels. The savage has had thousands of shot through it over the years. The rem Richard built it for me this year. Tried the savage first, saved 3 loads for the rem-pac later. Had the sav zeroed for clays 7 gr/h4198 63 grs which shot the load great with the 250 sst's. These tez were all over the target, the ones that hit the target, only 6 were on the target borad and 5 were key holed and one was nice round hole Couldn't figure it out so shot 2 sst's and they went in the same hole.So decided to try the last tez with a slower load it didn't even hit the target board.4ft by 4ft. Took it home and gave it a good cleaning, will see if that helps next week. Next was the rem pac, using the same load got 1/2 in 3-shot group so no problem with the rem-pac. Now I have one that shoots the tez and one that won't. The rem pac shot the 290's good also but the savage -pac shot them too but no small groups at 300 yds. Still scratching my head since Tuesday, hopefully I will get it figured out if not I like hunting with the 250 sst's they kill deer just as dead.

I've shot a good amount of the 250 TEZ's back when they weren't cool to shoot cause somebody said they wouldn't. In my McGowen barrel they needed a knurl from the box to fit the bore. In my Pacnor I believe a .449 die sized then. I might have put a slight knurl on them but can't remember for sure. I never had one keyhole but I also cleaned my barrels and plugs after every 20-30 shots. Hopefully cleaning fixed your problem.

Remember you and Carlos shooting some good groups with those now that you mentioned it.

Slow about getting back with the results. Shot 2 bullets 250 tez in the savage and both key holed so gave up on them in the sav-pac. They did shoot good round holes in the rem-pac out to 300 yds.I shot only 3 as seen in the pic and they weren't a small group but will do better. The scope I was using on the rem-pac is a vortex with the BDC rectal and it has large black dots under the cross hair,It covers up the 2 in dot I use at 300 yds. I shot the 290 tez's and the 300 sst with Richards load of clays/4198(10/60) and on the bottom target is the 250 tez with same load. I shot 7 bullets at the left top target (290tez)finding where to set the scope dots,#1 was at 20 pwr,#2 at 18pwr and ended up at 16 pwr and second dot down. If you take away #1&2 and start at the bottom hole on the right, thats the first shot,#4 I knew I pulled it when I pulled the trigger.so I think they are 3 shots in the long hole on the right or its went out in space some where. On the right are 3 shots with the 300 sst,the first shot was touching the target on the left so I held a tad right on the next2.The one that went high #4, I shot trying a cci mag primer or at least that is my excuise for it going high. The primer came out ,didn't stick but was black all over,so I am thinking if I decide to use the cci's I would have to reset the head space or drill out the primer cup some???

Giving up on the 250 tez in the sav-pac. I put a light knurl on one this morning and had to beat it down the barrel, but it did make a nice round hole at 100 yds. Shot one more sized ,it went down fine, but a keyhole with it at 100 yds. I will just stick to the sst's in this rifle, they shot so good and no trouble with them. Will shoot the tez's in my rem=pac, they shot great this morning.Got less than a 2 in group at 300 with them. The only bullets that I have used on deer since having the savage's is the 200 and 250 sst,so want to try the tez this year on deer.

Herman, I saw your other thread with the 1/2 MOA group with the TEZs at 300 yds. Nice shooting.
What is the difference in these guns, ignition system, barrel maker, twist rate, land to land spec, etc?
Really seems odd one would shoot them so well and the other not at all.

Both barrels are pac-nor,one is 27 in one 25 in and I am thinking both are 22 twist. Richard made me a cast of the land to land of the 25 in but don't remember where I wrote it down. Using win 209's in both. I would think that something is wrong with the barrel but just shot 3 250 sst's in a 1/2 group this morning. Will set up the sav-pac next time with the 250sst's for deer season then I'll have one for barnes and one for sst's.
