Shoot'n a little right. I sent 5 rounds today at 50 yards and evidently one of them missed the paper, most likely right.

I wouldn't worry about it all that too much; 50yds is a long poke with a pistol and about 4-5x as far as the average engagement. I still want my guns hitting PoA though.

What kind of ammo are you using? My Ruger SR9 is not very impressive grouping with cheap factory 115 FMJ loads. My handloads are also irratic. We are talking 4-5 inch groups at 25 yds with a great rest....at best However, the carry rounds, Cor-Bon 115 JHP +P's group very tight at 25 yds. Usually inside 2 inches....and to point of aim. Never stretched it to 50.
In either situation, someone at the 7 yd line is going to take one or more rounds in a bad place...for them. These auto's are finicky and I believe that something hot, with a thin jacket, that obturates makes a difference in accuracy. These guns usually aren't meant for splitting hairs but it seems that some types will mean a big difference if you want tighter groups.
Always wanted to try some coppers but the Cor-Bons are very accurate and hot. Wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of a few well placed shots.

I shot just Blazer 115gr FMJ. The Sig V-Crown 124gr are extremely accurate, but to expensive to shoot up playing at 50yds.
That was my second time shooting the PPS.
Buddy of mine shoots pistols often, quite often. His response when he seen the target, was to leave it alone, especially since it was my second time shooting it.

When I used to shoot competitively I used to have a 16lb barbell by the front door. Whenever I came home I would grab it and do at least a 5 minute workout with it before going inside. Then on my desk at both work and home I had squeeze balls to work on grip strength.
I started out shooting NRA Bullseye. A third of your shots were at 50yds. I also shot some PPC and you would do a couple of strings at 50yds. Of course those matches are not shot with carry pistols. But still there were Bullseye guys with 1911s (NRA legal, not race guns) that could easily keep all 10 shots in the black (8") at 50yds using the classic one hand grip standing (your other hand was in your pocket) and over half of those would be in the 10 ring (little over 3").

I have a buddy that has held a .22LR record at Camp Perry since "91" IIRC. He's planning on shooting there next year, using 1911's. He just showed me a couple he bought. One was a Les Baer. Not a pistol shooter, other than CC. He's been at CP or was all week...
