Thanks for the compliments, Got out again today to see if the first target was just a fluke and am very happy with todays shooting. 55 degrees and breezy but sunny Rem 700 sa 209 bolt modified Arrowhead plug, .040 bushing .452 Douglas barrel 25 1/4 length 70 grains H4198 Winchester 209 primer 275 BE full formed no wad 100 yard target I weighed out 6 charges and run a dry brush and then a dry patch through the bore and the first round in the sighter was out about an inch so I fired the next one and it went back to where my group had been. Dropped down to the next bull and shot the last 4 loads...best groups I have ever got out of a smokeless muzzle loader. The full formed ballistic extremes are probably the main factor here but the barrel has to be a good one and this Douglas barrel is certainly "showing off" Keith, I need some of your bullets to try :-) I promise that the bragging will stop soon :-)

Mike, I'm going to make a bunch this weekend and will mail them on Monday. If they don't shoot like the group's you are posting, feel free to tear a ragged hole with your finger and say it's a ten shoot group. You want them at .452 or .454 just in case my .452 die is a touch smaller than your barrel?

Very nice shooting gun! Looks like that is an extremely accurate ignition system!

Keith,
.452 should work because the Douglas is a tight .452
I started smokeless muzzleloading 3 years ago with this barrel and really never gave it a chance...need to pay closer attention to things..."who woulda thunk it" :-)
Thanks
