I have a 52 caliber Disc extreme. I am wondering if I can shoot blackhorn in this gun. I do have the 209 bare primer conversion kit for it also. If I cannot shoot blackhorn then I am going to get rid of it.

Blackhorn works great in my 50; don't see why it wouldn't work good in a 52.

Works fine. Ive shot 91gr by weight (which is roughly 130gr by volume) and a 325gr FTX.

Works fine. Ive shot 91gr by weight (which is roughly 130gr by volume) and a 325gr FTX. How does this load shoot? I have the same bullets. I was thinking of going lighter like 250-275 grain but do like the heavier bullet.

Your 52 is a one in twenty six twist and will shoot Blackhorn in both bare primer and RPJ. I shoot 110 grains by volume with a 225 bloodline. 90 grains with a 275 bloodline is another good combination. Hope this will help

Ok. May I ask why only 90 grains with the 275? I am shooting 100 grain by volume in a CVA optima and 250 sst. It shoots very well but want to use my knight instead.

I have found that 80 to 100 groups the best out of my rifles. 90 groups the best when trying to shoot small groups. Last year while shooting at Friendship I didnt find anyone shooting over 90 grains of Black. Most of the guys were shooting bullets in the 500 grain range with a fast twist 45 hitting Rams at 500 yards.
