Well its really spookie, Did not see a single deer during gun season in SW mo. There was about 4 shooter bucks and 4 smaller ones earlier. Worst season in many years for me. Deer went nocturnal according to cams about july and about november disappeared completely except for a couple of babies. New neighbor and a bunch of free running dogs.
Any way to discourage dogs with out shooting or trapping them? wayles

Find the owners if you can and talk to them. If not and if they are strays a good compound bow works. However I've shot a couple dogs and I felt terrible after the fact. Even if they are stray I'd feel bad. I don't think I'll ever shoot another dog, cats on the other hand i don't think I'd give it a second thought.
Once they are running around your place I don't think you can avoid trapping or shooting them. If you don't want your deer disappearing then you'll have to get rid of the dogs. Not sure how I'd handle it, probably set snares.
