Just couldn't stand not shooting today, so I drove to the range and back, 40 minutes each way. Particulars: Temps. 82 upon arrival, 74 upon departure. Winds calm to 10 miles an hour as the last shot was fired and a storm was approaching. Bullets, ShockWave 250, Powder, BH 209, 100 grains. Sabots, Harvester Black crushed. Primers CCI 209M. 100-yardsIn had made a scope adjustment based on my 4th run and may have put it too far left. The group measures 1.5 inches outside to outside holes. Is this how groups are measured? As you can see the group is a string group, Anyone know if that's me trying to get closer to bull or does it mean something else? I'm pretty happy with the group and have already given the scope 5 clicks to hopefully bring it dead center. I almost forgot, I didn't do any cleaning between shots, wet or dry and the barrel seemed to stay relatively cool. I want to get this thing shooting to the best of is and my abilities. Any comments and suggestions appreciated! Have a great day! Dave

There's two way i measure a group. One is measure the two furthest points and minus the bullet diameter. The second and easiest for me is just measure in the center of the two furthest bullets. I believe either way is the right way. I'm sure someone will say other wise shortly. BTW- Very nice shooting.

Thanks Grouse: That would bring this down to a 1 1/4 inch group. I'll take that at 100-yds any day! Thanks for the kind comments, it keeps me wanting to keep on keeping on! Do you see any problem with a "string group?" Have a great day! Dave

The Deer has the problem, not you.

The correct way to measure is out-side to out-side and subtract the bullet diameter. Example would be a 1.5" group shot with .452 bullet would = 1.048" group. Mike

What speeds are you getting with 250's and 100 gr bh209? Nice shooting BTW. Honestly don't have a clue. I shoot at a public range, provided and maintained by our Game Commission--and sometimes have annoying shooters--like yesterday around me. The guy fired two shoots and then jumped up and headed for his target without asking "all clear?" I was so annoyed at him, I really had to block him out to shoot and would have shot more if he hadn't been there. At one point I had just fired a shot and saw him with children in tow on the outer edge of my scope....That was unnerving to say the least! I haven't been able to find a club in my area that has a range, so I have no way of measuring speed. On the downside--and I'm not complaining--is that I have to call T/C tomorrow and ask about what I'm now convinced is a stress fracture on the forearm and get these scope rings and probably bases worked on. Which means I'll be starting over again. On the upside is that I finally found a combination that works in the Triumph and I'm really liking it, thanks to all the help I've gotten here. And I wanted to add that I love the T-power bar by T/C, sure makes loading a heck of a lot easier! The correct way to measure is out-side to out-side and subtract the bullet diameter. Example would be a 1.5" group shot with .452 bullet would = 1.048" group. Mike I'll take a group like that any day and every day. ;D Just want to get her dead center--but I'm getting close! Any additional comments, opinions or suggestions, greatly appreciated! Have a great day! Dave

Called T/C today and the nice lady told me to send them the for-end, saying "the fracture will worsen and you're covered under your warranty." Would like to get some shooting in before I send it off and am holding out until the end of the week.
When I asked her how long it will take: "Turn around time is usually about a week or so." Not sure I liked that answer, but....so I'll be down for at least a week....but it's inventory time where I work and will have a hectic schedule...so let's hope "about a week isn't much longer!"
Any folks here have experience with T?C pro or con? Have a great day! Dave
