I would think they would shoot as well as they look.

Very nice, Maine has recently changed from 45 to 40cal for a legal muzzle'loader dear caliber so I'm considering building one.

Beautiful! Something wrong with the stocks though...both are made for a righthander. Very nice...

Nice, I am hoping to get mine this week. Looking forward to getting it out also. How's the 400/408 treating you? Had it out much yet to get an opinion on it? You can't get a new gun and then not tell us about it.....

I got it and sighted it in with the barnes for deer season. But I did not get a chance to do a hair test, not one shot all week. It shot a .965 at 100 yards with 71 gr of 4895. Stepped it up a few grains and went out to 175 yds, first two shots were touching and the third went up about 1" to make a 1.375 group. I hope to get it out again within the next week or so.

I've got a die ready to head your way tomorrow, and an improved short starter for you to rough around too. Haha

Steve, have you weighed your target action build with scope on? Curious what it weighs in at. Sorry if you stated this elsewhere before. What's your 408 Rem weigh?
