It is so easy to get distracted at the range when people ask question of you and you go back to what you are doing now did I load it or didn't I What I do I tell the person wait a second I have a twisty tie with a loop in it I put it in the barrel then I go to the person and have the conversation when I return to what I was doing I know that I already loaded the rifle if for some reason I forget to do this I have a witness mark on my ram rod. And at my age I go to the garage half way there I ask what am I going here for

My son once shot his rangerod downfield. Bulged his barrel and we had to replace it. Now his rangerod has a plastic coffee can lid on the handle end. It blocks the view of the scope.

Now that seems like a good idea.

Tell him I'm I'm sorry he got hurt, but glad it wasn't worst. Glad I got the solid Brux barrel and I have one loaded right now in my savage. Have been very fortunate to remember when I have a load remaining, but as we get older we never know if I age may cause a lack in memory. Not mentioned to protect the builder's reputation (since the fault lies with the double loading).
