Anyone know where to get the stainless steel screw that keeps the bolt in? I found the blued one online and remington claims they are BAT regulated and won't ship one to me.

Remington are some darn fools, as is savage. I try not to waste my time calling them anymore.... I agree, it's like talking to most WalMart sporting goods clerks. I think that's what happens when you don't hire shooters/hunters to work in these positions. The screws are not BAT regulated, you just talked to someone who doesn't have a clue. Happens more often than not these days.

I called them with the PN. I got the total and then the guy goes oh wait why are these BAT regulated? I said I doubt it you can ship the whole guy around person to person. Then I had him re-look up the part. And he goes "cool it is used on the 40x too". I told them Brownwells sells them online and he said it probably had to ship to FFL dealer too. I looked at the 40x diagram and did not see it anywhere. If I Rossman does not have any I'll try again with Remington.

If Rossman doesn't have any I can make you one but I will need a week or so. I cut them down and file them by hand, I don't have the tools most on here have. I was missing one before Rossman made the last batch so I just ordered 10 screws and made a couple.

It would have to be part of the "fire control system" (between trigger and firing pin) to be BATFE regulated and then that would be for export. I downloaded Remington's 2014 price list and there was no remark on that part. The SS ones are "no longer availible" from Remington but I make a batch every now and then and try to keep some on hand. All the gun companies are bad about trigger and safety parts. Getting a light weight Accutrigger spring from Savage is almost impossible unless you have a FFL and are known to them. You can't get a safety or replacement adjustment screws from Remington but you can buy the whole trigger assembly.

I had to subsequently sign and fax them a release form to get the replacement firing pin guide (bolt nose/primer holder) after going around with them. I guess they don't want the responsibility of their part not being installed by a "real" FFL gunsmith! Richard
