I stumbled across several posts where people shooting knurled bullets SABOT LESS (without sabots) out of their ML's and have ruined their barrels. I NEVER shoot with out sabots and also shoot allot of knurled bullets. I am presently shooting my new Knight Extreme and plan on using knurled SST's and Barnes ML bullets. Is it safe to shoot saboted knurled bullets or not? I have shot 100's of knurled saboted bullets out of my 10ML-II and have seen nothing to indicate it's harming my barrel, but for obvious reasons I wish to be sure.
To be clear I am talking about knurling with the use of two files, not a knurling tool. I also would like to know if anyone is making and selling a barrel safe knurling tool.
Thanks, Arthur.

Thanks for the info, but my concern is would any of those work with copper jacketed bullets, let alone Barnes all copper bullets. All the examples shown are for, based on the pics, knurling much softer lead bullets.

If your only shooting sabots there should be no problem .

Art,
"The HCT-2HC is a Hand Cannelure Tool version 2 (diamond knurl) which has hardened tool steel rollers and hardened axles, enabling you to use the tool on jacketed bullets as well as lead bullets." per Corbin. I would assume if guys can size and knurl annealed monos with files you can do it with this tool also. Perhaps you could send them to one of the guys here with a lathe and have them done in a large batch.

Its the broken teeth from the files during the knurling process that can cause the irrepairable damage shooting sabotless...
