Chris, aka mrbuck sent me a nice picture of his collection of SML's. It was too good of a picture to not share, so I asked if he minded if I shared it with the board since I was able to scan it and get it on the computer, he said: knock yourself out.... For anyone who hasn't got a chance to know Chris, he's a stand up guy, he normally stays in the shadows here, but don't let that fool ya, he's a great guy who does his fair share of shooting and hunting as well. You couldn't meet a nicer guy and he never has anything but a kind word to say, he's a pretty good source of hunting information as well! I'm glad he let me share this pic and I hope he and everyone else enjoys them.. Chris, if I foul up any of the information, I apologize and please correct me. Guy Starting Left to Right: #1 - Sav MLII/SS/T-hole with a Leupold 3.5 - 10 #2 - Sav Pacnor .45 with a Leupold 3.5 - 10 #3 - Sav MLII (Blued) with a Leupold 2.5 - 8, 3rd action screw, glass bedded (Bill Ball) #4 - New Ultra Light Arms 50cal with a Leupold 2.5 - 8, mounted in Talley Light Weight mounts

Great looking guns, Chris! Yes, it did pain me to install the thimble on the Pac-Nor. Glad it's shooting well for you!

Thank you all for your kind words ... especially ohioguy . These smokeless guns are like that old Lay's potato chip commercial " Bet ya can't have just one ! " The blued gun is set up for closer range with 300gr. XTP's at 2000 f.p.s. The stainless thumbhole is set up with Parker 250gr. Ballistic Extremes at 2400 f.p.s. for more distant shots in North Carolina bean fields . Newest is the Savage/PacNor in .45 caliber that shoots like a house afire and will surely replace the .50 caliber thumbhole in the Carolina bean fields . Amazing what a good barrel can do ! And for a real snap to your shoulder deer rifle there is the NULA . Thank you , Chris

The NULA is a sweetheart if you feed her right. Nothing a 225gr XPB and a little N110 wont cure. 275gr BE at 2400fps...not too much fun though.

Yep, mine will eat most everything I have fed it with N110 and N120. It shoots the Parkers best but will shoot anything admirably. And it doesn't wear me out carrying it.

The 225gr XPB is my favorite for closer shots. You dont need much N110 for good fps. The best part is the 225gr FTX makes a great practice bullet and seems to shoot fine with the same mild 39gr-41gr load. Its far more pleasant than the 275gr BE and 58gr of N120.

Yeah, a 300gn MH and 54gn of N120 thumps a little in the NULA. I have started shooting the 250gn Thor over 38gn of N110 and while I have not shot a deer with it I think they will be a good hunting bullet for the ranges I am likely to shoot here in NC.

I don't enjoy excessive recoil so I have only shot 250gr. bullets in the NULA . Usually hunt in NC with the Muzzleloader so I really don't need too much of a bullet to get the job done . I would like to try the 225gr. XPB bullet in the NULA for small fields and short lanes . I tried 300gr. Barnes Originals with N120 at 2200f.p.s. in the Savage blued laminated stock gun and found the recoil unpleasant . Not worth it for me .

Thought the 300 SST would work for me but I don't like the recoil either. As soon as my goat hunt is over I'm going back to 250 sst . Slung some 300 today at 2720 not an enjoyable day shooting. To hard on gun also.
