Here is the part I particularly like the best I'm personally all worn out on the pervasive break-action hinge-pin hammer gun version of ugly. There seems to have been some sort of unofficial competition in the muzzleloading market as to who can sell the ugliest front-loader with the nastiest tupperware stock, the noisiest cocking, and the slowest lock-time. Sir if your shooting demonstration in the video provided above is any indication of the Remington 700 ultimate.. Prepare to be wore completely out by members posting videos of hinge pin ugly hammer muzzleloaders that can shoot the swivels off the Remington Ultimate ! And with all due respect I hope the Remington Ultimate sure shoots better than what you demonstrated. Because I Belive it can in the right hands!

Come on fellas, post pics of your hinge-pin hammer guns! And how they don't shoot MOA out to 500 (sarcasm)

As a matter of fact, no.
Bob Parker does indeed hunt with Match Hunters, not Ballistic Extremes. No, far from more than 160 grains of BH209 "being a waste," his best load thus far is 180 grains / volume BH 209. All you have to do is ask him.

The statement I made came right from Bob Parker during a very long phone conversation. Yes, Bob has shot heavier loads from his "Michigan Ultimate" rifles (as you now call them). However......... until Bob tells me different in another phone conversation, I have nothing more to go buy than his original statements to me.

I may have to try the 275gr MH. Ive shot the 275gr BE at roughly 2400fps+ in my ULA 50cal but its a bit fragile at those speeds. Deer still hate it though and drop fast.

One thing I've really enjoyed about this smokeless muzzleloading forum is the guys who build these hybrids. They are true to their sport/products with no agenda other than to improve and innovate with no one pimping them out to sell or sell out.

As I understand it, they started shipping to dealers. They should start showing up.

When are the Remington ML's going to be available to the public? They have been out for several weeks. www.randywakeman.com/RemingtonModel700UltimateMuzzleloaderFrequentlyAskedQuestions.htm . Several outlets (like Gander Mountain) have already sold out and reordered. Remington had the first 1000 built several weeks back. No idea what number they are at today. As it is a first year gun combined with a very, very late release, they are going to be hard to come by for a while.

180 gr powder! Yikes! And 10 oz for how much? I think that works out to over $1+ for powder every trigger pull. Plus how much for prime and a bullet? Easily OVER $2 a shot total. No thanks. Got one of them hinge pin guns and it don't cost no $2 a shot. And 450 grains accelerated and expelled out that barrel spells RECOIL. Again no thanks. I hope GREEN has a successful run as it will certainly bring a lot of the old 700ML out for sale/trade etc... Lots of donors for builds in the future and I'll have better rifles for less $. JMHO 10 ga

Randy, Are you getting paid to promote the ultimate? Just curious.

I review guns; I'm not a marketing company, and the pen isn't for sale.
Del Ramsey, Bill Ball, Bill Knight, Bob Parker, Ron Coburn, Hornady, Barnes . . . they will all attest to that. No news there.

Randy,
You posted your review for the rem ultimate before they were released for sale to the public. Dud you purchase one directly from the factory or did Remington provide you one for testing? If they provided you one then you pen was for sale for at least $999 up to $1299 depending on model you received. I find your reviews helpful but come one you profit somehow for your time.
Didn't you review the new fed mz bullet as well? I can't find one anywhere.

Do you have any concept of how many muzzleloaders I have? How many rifles? How many scopes? Do you think evaluating rifles does not take both significant time and money? Have you added up all the gun reviews I do per year, every single year? Do you realize how long I've been Senior Editor of Guns & Shooting Online? I spend 3K a year in transfers and I get background checked up to 2 - 3 times per week.
Are you aware of all the private consulting and legal work I perform, every year?
No, the new Federal B.O.R. Lock MZ is on technical hold, I've not seen any yet.

All I have to say is bring the rem/ultimate to the 2 nd annual Kentucky challenge next year. Surely with all the guns, rifles, bullets and all the hours shooting, you may get to be the top dog. But I'm sure you will have to pay your own way. Now that would be a column worth reading about.
Come enjoy the fun Randy. Shooting , food and fun. Bring your best ml/ SML Then the story will be told.

Since we are in ther subject. My CVA Accura V2 shooting 150 gr pellets will shoot just as well as the ultimate remmy. I will even put money in it at 100 or 200. For less than half the price.

No I have no concept nor do I care how many you have or how big it is! But to say you aren't compensated is ludicrous ! And who, exactly, do I have the pleasure of addressing? By what theory would any of this be construed as your business? Really, if you have questions about the Remington Ultimate, I'll answer them to the best of my ability. However, if you want to drag it completely off-topic with your baseless speculation, I can't help you. Sorry.

My name is Randy Ray. I'm not trying to get in a pissing match with you. I find it very hard , if not impossible to believe you're not being compensated in some way to promote your said goods. If I was receiving free stuff I would promote it as well.

Randy, you can believe whatever it is wish to believe. Feel free to call Remington if you wish. I review guns and have for a long, long while. I enjoy muzzleloading, in particular, and any time a significant new model appears, it gets good coverage. Last year, it was the LHR Redemption . . . a new ML, and a good one, from a new company. It was the subject of several articles as well.
If you want to be a gunwriter, go right ahead . . . no one is stopping you. Or, feel free to refer to the NRA review of May in the American Hunter, and take every single word as absolute fact. Half of the all the guns I review have issues, issues that are honestly reported. It is for the benefit of my readership, of course. The NRA never gets a truly rotten gun.
