Well after our 4" of snow and the two driveways I remove the snow off (two widows in my neighborhood) of plus mine I'm beat! Still need to cut split and load more wood for the stove but I love every minute of it. Guess that's what I get for being young.
Hope everyone is staying warm and healthy during this wintery weather in the Midwest!

That's the Niabrara river I was on McKelvey National Forest in that picture. I grew up on the Missouri River near Omaha. I was scouting for mule deer back in 2012.

I have the same issue as you my two neighbors are old galls and I end up shoveling for them and in the summer I do most the mowing too. Just 30 miles to the south (a ski run) ,of me the snow count for the year is over 150" so far and the "BIG" snow is yet to come. Keep warm and go shoot something... PS our state record cold is -70* in 1954

Our biggest snow was the 4" we just got our season has been dry this year. However around 0 allot this year. Been in this house since 2011 and this had been coldest year so far. Love our wood stove and didn't think I'd like the city life but it's been fun. Then temps some of you guys been getting is crazy! I really want to go shoot but waiting on my new mcrem build to come back from Luke. I'll be shooting lots when I get that back. Have 150 ftx and 50 BE's to shoot and 7 pounds of powder and 1000 primers. I'm good to go just waiting on the gun to come in. RR

I guess I better get my panties unbunched after hearing about everyone else's weather. I thought 80"+ of snow was something to scoff about. I have lived in NW Indiana all of my life, and moved 15mi 12 yrs ago into the "lake effect snow belt" downwind of Lake Michigan. It is nothing to get 1-3' of snow in a day or two, but this year it has also been the cold and wind. Been a couple nights of -15deg and some days that never got above zero. The snow piles are twice as high as our mailbox, and their is waist deep snow all around the garage and outside wood furnace. I had to have my bud come over with a loader and pile up the snow and dig us out just so we could get to our woodpile. Been a rough year for our 3 yo with getting to play in the snow because it's been so cold and windy. Going to be one hell of a mess if we get a quick thaw, if that's even possible with this much snow and ice pack. Everybody stay safe, and warm. Getting to shoot is not even on the radar for quite a while to come at this pace of winter.

So I was feeling pretty good about myself yesterday until my lower back tightened up. Note I can't hardly stand. Wish I wasn't so hard on my back when I was a kid!
Today is -7 I actually like this child weather but again I am crazy!

I just got back from Edge's neck of the woods...........NJ. We got 10" the morning after the super bowl (we are only 30 miles from the stadium). Then one day of sunshine and back to a couple of inches of freezing rain to really slop things up. Fortunately I took the 4x4 Tacoma and had no problem navigating around. We left some three days early as it was not fun trying to visit relatives in various parts of the state. Boy it felt good to come home to sunshine and 50*+ temps yesterday! I know why I moved south..............Warmer temperatures and liberal gun laws! Richard

Today is -7 I actually like this child weather but again I am crazy! RR If you like -7*F, then I fully concur with the rest of your statement!! Remember the other day when the SE U.S. and even Florida panhandle got snow? My son who moved from Iowa to Alabama to get away from the cold temps got caught in their "4" blizzard". People who got caught in it on the highways just abandoned their cars and walked, therefore he could go nowhere because the lanes were full of abandoned vehicles! He and our grand kids had to walk an hour to get home. The next morning he had to walk back to his car (another hour) in 9*F temps. So some of the south did not escape this crazy weather.

Yep, in nw ohio we had around 4" of this terrible snow cone consistency crap that made for the most dangerous roads I've ever traveled. Threw that down on warm dirt for a terrible driveway mess to plow and now I've got frozen moguls. All the geese were flying back south yesterday by the hundreds and screaming foul the whole way.

We had allot of snow in 2010 if I remember correctly the snow disappeared first part of June or late may. We haven't had that much snow since then kinda miss it but it's nice out today so I like that also. Hopefully you'll start to warm up soon.

2013-2014 Snowfall - 318+" with 31" on the ground through 4/16/14 This doesn't include the storm we are getting right now. This one may add another 12"-18" before it's over. It ain't over till it's over. Unless we get a big warm up snow will still be on the ground in June. johndee.com/ has web camera in the left hand menu where you can see live shots of this new storm.

2013-2014 Snowfall - 322+" with 31" on the ground through 4/17/14
On good note we will need about 6 feet more to have a record snow fall amount year. It will be swatting season before we know it.

They just revised our storm forecast, it was another 8"-12" but it is down graded to 4"-6". This weather pattern is getting old.
