This bullet isn't cheep, but in my gun it is worth it. Some of who read this will not be interested because of cost, others may not worry about cost if the outcome is what they are looking for. I have T/C Encore, 28 in barrel. I am using 120 Gr of BH 209, with fed. primers. I can't tell you how fast they are going, but they all go through the same hole at 50 yards. I am using the Thor bullet, 250 Gr.BT, .502. I dry patched after each shot, and there are no sabots. Bullet must be seated firmly. This bullet is made by Barnes for OPG Gun Ventures, 660-244-5251. Google THOR for the web sight. Terry has them in four sizes. If you don't mind the cost this could be the bullet for you. You will never have to worry about a sabot again. Its a barnes bullet, and they have been proven on game.

Hi Topusmc I am hoping to get drawn out for colorado this year and am searching for a nonsabot bullet. Colorado requires no longer than an inch long. What do the 250 baltip for The TC measure? How was the fit in your TC's bore? I also shoot a TC encore. That bullet might be just the tickit for an elk Thanks in advance for any info Wayles

The Thor 250 Gr. bullet with the tip is 1.156 inches long, without the tip its .959. I can't tell you what the performance differences are. Going by other bullets I have used with and without tips, I noticed only very small differences. I do beleive that at long range there may be a difference. My Encore loads very nice using the Thor .502. Its the only one I have tried, and it is a winner. Your barrel may be different. The 300 Gr. may be different lengths.

I emailed Thor bullets with the same question about Colorado. They sent me a pack of bullets (free of charge) to determine the diameter of my bore. They sent a .500 .501 .502 .503 diameter bullets. In my Knight DISC I need the .503. I am a little worried about shooting a 250 gr bullet for elk, but Thor said it would be no problem. I have not ordered any yet, but I plan too.

Don't worry about the 250 grain taking out an elk. Daughter and I killed two big bulls in New Mexico useing 250 grain shockwaves and 2f 777. Hers was a broadside double lung at 160 yds and mine was a head on middle of the chest at about 75 yds. I will try the .502 dia thor for fit and accuracy. I will knock off the tip to get leagle in Colorado. I will try the Email trick first to see if they might send a sample fo fit Thanks Wayles

I did not ask Thor to send the bullets to check the bore fit. They offered to send them to me. I emailed them about the length of the bullet to see if it was Colorado legal and they offered to send the bullets.
