I just bought a T/C Prohunter with a 12ga 24" rifled barrel Sunday. Won't have it til next week. I am going to put a 3-9 Zeiss on it. I am guessing its a 1-28 twist but won't know til I get.
Was wondering if anyone had one and what slugs it may like. Going to try some SST's, Fusions and other stuff I have laying around. Not wanting to spend a ton on it cause I am going to sell the barrel. Bullberry is building me a 20ga for it but will be next yr before it's done.
Thanks for the help. Jr

SST should shoot decent. At least they did in my Prohunter 12ga.
I also have a Bullberry Encore 20ga barrel. Shoot the Hastings slugs or now theyre called Laser accurate slugs. Slugs R Us sells them.
My 3.5" Bullberry 20ga shoots very well at 100yds. 1-1.5" groups.

What did you do for a length and taper on your 20ga? Did you try SST's in the 20ga? Thanks again. Jr

Had a Encore 20 ga rifled barrel and traded it away when I got my first MLII. Mine liked the Winny supremes and golds best. The Lightfields shot real good. Never could shoot the Hornadys worth anything. It was also very "heat sensitive" in that you had to shoot a cold barrel or accuracy was non existent, typical for sabots. Usually a 2 shot group then wait for cooler barrel. Also be aware that it had plenty of recoil and could eat scopes like hot SML shooting. It also liked to be clean to shoot any good, ie: swab & plastic removal every 3 to 5 shots. My experiences worth your $.02 10 ga

Should make a heck of a nice slug gun. Love the feel of the encore's and how they shoulder. I'd definitely think about the hinge pin upgrade right off the bat. Best of luck and let us know how it works out.

Got a chance to go shoot this weekend. I had some Winchester XP3's left over and gave them a try. Good news/bad news. They shot an inch group at 100yds but does that gun kick. Makes my smokeless MZ feel like a .223. Won't notice when I'm shooting at a deer but very unpleasant off the bench. Jr

2 3/4 or 3"? The other day, I shot a 3" Win XP3 out of the 870 Super Slug to check POI vs. the Accutip it's sighted in with and WOW, what recoil. I've shot many 2 3/4 XP3's and didn't think much about it, the 3" really kicks, even compared to the 3" Accutips.

I just had 2 3/4 XP'3's but had some 3" 385gr 2000fps Supremes Holy Crap. I thought the XP'3's kicked hard. Gun only weight 6lbs. Earnhardt warned me about the 3" XP3's but I would guess the Win Supremes would compare. Biggest barking dog I've ever shot.

Had one of them fern things...must watch your eyebrows! !!!!. -got rid of it and bought a 20. They both are finicky. Shoot best between shots# 3 and10.... then liked to be cleaned to keep the accuracy. 20 shoot a ragged hole at 50th with winchester supremes. That gun gotr retired by my smkless gun's drop

Bullberry is building me a 20ga. Be more for my daughters or a quick backup gun. Hoping its a little more user friendly.

That BB 20 should make a dandy youth gun for sure. IMO, nothing compares with the 3" XP3's on the recoil scale compared to anything I've ever shot from my guns, and I've shot everything made to this point except the new Federals. IDK what powder Winchester is dumping in these XP3's or how much, but wow do they bang... Hang on to whatever you're shooting if ya ever drop one of them into the chamber....

No fun with that amount of recoil. I sent a HR sb2 into the factory for a 20GA rifled barrel fitment so the wife would have a simple gun to shoot. Got it back and sighted it in with remington cheapo slugs and after 6 shots I put it into the safe and told the wife I will look for an automatic for her. Too much recoil, black and blue type.
