Towards the bottom in the link below is an article about using a double sabot (actually seems more like stacking them to me) in a muzzleloader. Although it appears to be intended for the smokeless Savage I was wondering how this method compared to using a sub-base under the regular sabot and whether there was any real advantage to either method in a standard muzzleloader? MMP makes a sub-base sabot. They call them MMP BBSB. www.mmpsabots.com/I tried them years ago under hph12's with 250grain stuff. They did make much difference for me. Might be worth a try going sabot less with a .50 cal bullet. mshm

Not required for standard muzzle loading loads because the pressure is usually under 20k psi. Mike
