Here are some various black sabots all designed for .452 bullets. The supplied sabots are probably the HPH24 or HPH12. You will just have to see how they shoot. If the supplied sabot works, I stick with it because I'm cheap. If it doesn't work the short black Harvester is the first one that I would try in your Triumph. The pics aren't the greatest but hopefully better than nothing. The first is the short black MMP. It will be the shortests of these 4, have the mold number written by hand will have a smooth shoulder. The second is the HPH12, it will be tall and have the steps on the underside shoulder and the mold number will be written by hand. The third is the HPH24, it will have the stepped shoulder and a stamped mold number. The fourth is the infamous short black harvester we have talked about. It will have smooth shoulder but a stamped mold number.

Man, that took a lot of time and effort....thanks, I hope others like me see it. If the rain holds off, I'll have to stick to those on the other thread...actually would rather be shooting than shopping tomorrow. I just checked and those supplied with the Triumph had the same sabots as those I took photos of.
I hope to try the SBH's soon. Doesn't it make you wonder why T/C would send a pack of shockwaves with the longer sabots?
Sorry for wandering off the subject on the BH thread. Hope to have some answers tomorrow! Thanks, Have a great day! Dave

Doesn't it make you wonder why T/C would send a pack of shockwaves with the longer sabots? Dave I definately think the ones supplied with the bullets are not that great. I think the Sabot companies and the bullet Mfg are in together. Sabot company to the bullet company. we will sale these sabots to you cheap so, the package is more appealing to the consumer. But, they will be rejects and then the consumer will still come to us for our better line of sabot's. Well, maybe not exactly like that but I bet very close. I would start with the SBH they are working better in alot of T/C muzzleloader's

Thanks for posting this info younghunter.
Like others have already stated... the SBH is becoming our "go to" sabot when shooting the .452 bullets. All my buds that shoot T/C 's (Firehawk, Omega, Encore, Triumph) all use it. And it works great in my Knight Elite with the .452 XTP's. And we've tried them all.
Can't figure out why the SBH loads easy and still shoots so accurately. I'm thinking the sabot base seals better or it's the plastic formulation... whatever. Claybuster/Harvester has a winner for sure.
The MMP short black works well with the .450 & .451 bullets IMO.

As info, remember that some of the long skirted sabots may have to be trimmed if they are not compatable with your loading jag. Barnes aligner jag ,among others, can make it really tough to seat the bullet.
Good post YH86. It needs to be repeated often. This is one leg of the three legged stool.

This is a great chart and worthy for everyone. I received my SBH's today, thanks so much YH86! Apparently, as close as I can tell, those that came with the shockwaves and the Triumph were HPH-24's. Some have 11 stamped on the bottom and others had 12. Sure couldn't see much of a difference, both seemed to be the same length! I'm preparing vials tonight and am excited to try the SBH's-hopefully this Sunday afternoon. I can't thank younghunter86 enough for the package and the members of this board for being so patient and kind! YB86--check your pm! Have a great day! Dave

The different numbers are from individual mold numbers. At least that's what I'm assuming. I don't really know this for sure, but it does make sense. So that's what I'll go by until someone tells me differently. Any who, I'm glad the short black harvesters arrived in time for your range session this weekend. Hopefully they will load firmly and shoot well! Let us know how it goes.

I sure will...hope this summer weather slows a bit--it was 86-degrees here today! Haven't seen anyone challenge you yet, so I'll stick with the same concept. I have enough powder in vial and enough shockwave 150-grain to give her a go. Anxious to tack up a few target at 100-yards! Have a great day, and thanks again! Dave
