No takers?? There are some nice video on this guns on youtube. One guy "Hickok45" does some very good gun reviews.
Also there's a ammo maker I've never heard of....UNDERWOOD. They make a few +P+ 9mm loads that approach .357 mags in a short barrel. A 124 gr at 1300 fps and a 147 gr at 1175 fps. All with Gold Dot bonded bullets. Several Gel tests. Very interesting. There are also several video's of guys proving out the speed of these loads on chrony's. Many Mfr claims are over stated but it appears Underwood is spot on and in some cases understated!
Anyone have any reviews? I have a ton of different 9mm ammo on order and also the SR9-C on order. All gitty on getting a fun and serious gun!

Don't have a SR9 but I've got it's older brother P95. The SR9's are slimmer and easier to conceal.. Supposed to be a good pistol all the way around... If it's anything like my P95 it'll shoot anything you put in it.. A good workhorse of a pistol... I'm sort of partial to Rugers...American made, affordable, well made.... Own a LCP, Blackhawk 357mag, P95 9mm, MK111/45 .22, 10/22 .22, Mini 14 .223. Haven't had a problem with any of them... Keep um clean and shoot. Zen

Thanks Panhandle
I too am partial to Rugers. We have a LCR 357 on hold at a local gun shop for my wife. She can play with 38's for a while and has the flexibility to upgrade to 357 if she can control it.
Every pistol in the house will be a Ruger. I also have owned a mini-14 a long time ago...wish I still had it...can't find one right now. My 10-22 is about 20+ years old and had 10,000+ rounds thru it.
Love Rugers!

Update...
Well my wife and I sealed the deal on a few pistols today. The LCR 357 snub for her which will probably not see much 357 ammo cause it will kick too much.
However, for me, I was settled on the SR9-C. BUT...it looks like a LONG waiting line. The gunshop had a SR9 in stock and I bought it. Only difference is that the gun is a little bigger. But not that much. I loved the way if feels in the hand.
All my guns are decent sized...a Ruger GP100 4" 357, a MKII 22 with a 5" bull barrel. It is so easy to hit with a "real" sized pistol. The SR9 is just a little smaller then those guns and a little bigger than the SR9-C.
Have secured plenty of ammo so far. My biggest eye-opener was the Underwood ammo for both the 357 and 9MM. Good price and great reviews. The 357 ammo is 125 gr speer gold dots at 1600 fps and the 9mm 115 gr gold dot at 1400 fps.
Also got several hundred rounds of Magtec and Herters.
Looking forward to doing a bunch of shooting and reviews of new guns, ammo, holsters, etc. Haven't bought a new pistol in a LONG time. Feel like a kid at Christmas.

Should be picking up my pistol today. Have to drive 1 hr to Monroe county to the clerks office, get it on my licence and drive back to Batavia and pick up the gun. Here in NYS, you have to go to the county that issued your permit. Luckily, you can also have them transfer your permit to your new county of residence. I am doing that too.
My wife picked up her LCR-357 Friday and we both put a few cylinders through it yesterday. At 7 yds, she kept all but 1 shot on a paper plate with std 158 gr 38 spec lead round noses. I had no problem putting 5 shots fairly centered in the plate...about a 3-4 inch group. She needs to shoot a bunch more and get comfy with the gun and pistol shooting in general.
Really looking forward to picking this SR9 up today...

Got it. In the house. Been fondling it for an hour...really like the way it feels.
While I was there I grabbed 500 rds of CCI 22 mini mags to add to the pile I have already. Should have grabbed another few bricks. They had a $hit ton of 22's there. Also grabbed some +P 38's for the wife. This shop has quite a good inventory of ammo...surprisingly.
The Big city of Rochester, NY had a bustling of people getting permits, adding guns etc. People doing other forms of business were obviously pissed off by the waiting line. Kinda like the worst DMV experience you could ever imagine. The line was out the door. However, once it was my turn, it went smooth and I was out of there quick. I hate going into the big city's. You can't carry in a govt office and only a fool would leave a pistol in their vehicle. So I went up there with nothing but my ppwk.
Done deal...got it now.

Congrats on the new toy! I'm also a fan of Rugers. My 10/22 is and always will be my favorite gun. And my SR1911 is one fine piece of equipment. Good luck finding enough ammo to quench your shooting thirsts.

Two fine choices in pistols... Awhile back I started reloading ammo for both my 9mm and my 357.... Bought a bunch of brass off gunbroker and a couple Lee bullet molds. Now I keep about 2000 rounds for the 38/357 and about 5000 rounds for my Ruger 9mm and my Kel-tec sub 2000 9mm.. My favorite plinking round for the 38 spec is 4gns W231/158gn SWC. It's fun and easy to shoot. The 9mm's shoot 4.8 gns of W231 / 124gn LRN. I also reload and cast for my two 45ACP's with another 5000 rnds on hand. Since I started reloading these and casting my own bullets my shooting has gone up a lot ;D...A bucket or two of wheel weights goes a long ways....Have fun with your new sidearms. Zen

I was really looking forward to everything until today. Now I am a criminal with 2 - 10 rd mags. Also, my 10-22 and MkII have 10 rd mags. I am screwed by NYS. Our rights have been sacrificed in many ways....and just a few steps away from being confiscatory. If not confiscatory... our otherwise legal arms are being made useless by banning the 10 rd mags available at this time. NYS has already made "high cap" mags illegal. 10 rd limit. Now it's 7 rds. Ruger makes NO MAGS for my 3 guns that hold 7 rds. It is either dumb luck or severe brilliance that has made 3 of my guns illegal with a stroke of a pen by an idiot.
Good luck NYS!! We are guided by nazi types who continue to grasp at control of the 2nd amendment to take away our guns....OR make them so limited that the guns we have are not usable...a unique angle...but not surprising.
The next step is the next tragedy. that will bring on new initiatives to "stop the madness and save our children"
Please...spare me

Wilmsmeyer, not to sound like a fool, but would it be possible to make a plug for your magazines (for 3 rounds), and then keep the guns legal?

Wilmsmeyer, not to sound like a fool, but would it be possible to make a plug for your magazines (for 3 rounds), and then keep the guns legal? Whether it be Ruger or an aftermarket company, someone is on that one right now. Someone will be coming up with a mag which will allow only seven rounds loaded. Same for other makes. Doubt if NYS would allow plugs only, which could be easily converted back.

I guess there is a provision that allows us to keep the 10 rd magazines but you can't get caught with more than 7 bullets in it or it's a misdemeanor. That is freakin Hilarious!!!!
How that protects the public I have no clue. Hey...Joe Criminal.....you better not load 10 rounds in your mags before you decide to kill people. Or...Hey...Joe Criminal....you better not go down south and buy a few 17 round mags and bring them up here and try to use them in NYS. That would be against the law!!! Do you care Joe criminal. OH I FORGOT....you're a criminal....and NO you don't care. But for you.....Joe Criminal.....you now are able to completely out gun any law abiding citizen in NYS. And God forbid if there are 2 or 3 of you pulling an operation!!! Whoa...
And to make matters even weightier on the side of a bad guy, he will bring a High cap mag, hi power rifle with him too.....and several spare 30 round mags. BUT "IT's ILLEGAL IN NYS TO DO THIS" someone would say. Does Joe criminal care if it's illegal?
My question is this? How is Wilmsmeyer....with a 10-22, a Ruger SR-9 9mm and a Ruger MKII...all with 10 round mags....a danger to anyone? How is he not a danger with a bunch of 7 round mags?
People are sheeple and nuff said

I had the chance to shoot the new 9mm last Saturday. Shot about 150 rounds...all 115 fmj's except a magazine full of the Underwood 115 +P+ with the Speer Gold Dot to make sure they functioned OK. At 25 feet I can easily keep all my shots on a paper plate standing/offhand. (And I would hope so...right? Everything was on the right side of the plate so I made an adjustment when I got home. Next time I will bench shoot it and really see what can be done. Also plan on chronographing those Underwood loads. They are supposed to go 1400+. There's a guy on Youtube that does some fairly technical testing (tnoutdoors9) He was getting something like 1,434 ave for 5 shots! This would put this load in the .357 mag territory. NO malfuctions of any kind. Very comfortable to shoot. Excellent trigger and nice sights. Easy to disassemble/clean too. Not a comprehensive review here, just my 1st session/impressions
