265 yards the doe was hard quartering to me and the bullet went in the front side shoulder taking a couple ribs went out of rib cage at rear and shattered rear leg bone where it was resting. Drt. 27"rempac 78grns r7 2725fps. This is the 3rd doe killed with this combo so far but the first bullet recovered.

That is awesome! How hard is it for you to size the .458 bullet down?

Pretty easy after they are annealed

Nice. What is your annealing process?

very good performance and a good looking bullet..hard to beat that!

Congrats, looks like annealing has no affect on the integrity of the bullet. Good info!

I didn't know how the annealing was going to effect it. Now we do. I just put them on the stove on high for 30mn and then drop them in a pot of cool water. It makes a world of difference when resizing.

This bullet does not have the dramatic effect that the 275mhs and be's do, but I like it.

Annealing makes a world of difference for sizing.
Have you ever tried sizing without annealing? Reason I ask, I am wondering if there was any difference in velocity between annealed versus regular? Full formed or smooth sized also? Thanks.

Dave w the first few times I shot were without annealing and the velocities were lower but I attribute that to poor fit. Since then I have not. So no good comparison. The smooth die did not even let the bullet start at the bottom if I remember correctly. Do u have a full form die?

Looks like it performs terminally the same as the un-annealed version, just wondering if it obdurates better or similar to a jacketed bullet after annealing. Would think since they size easier.

Sweet! No jacket bits to worry about eating in those deer!
