What shotshell (new) has the softest primer? What primers are the softest for reloading? I have experienced several "clicks" lately with one brand of ammo. Primer was barely indented. Ran the misfired shell back through the gun and snapped it ten times. Primer was more deeply indented but still no luck- Two other brands fired ok.
Thanks in advance.

my first thought would be the rim thickness is too thin allowing the shell to set deeper in the chamber, or the primer is set deeper in the hull.
As far as the softest primer, I'd hazard a guess and say the Fiocchi 616.............but that's just a guess on my part.

My first thought is, you have something wrong with your gun.

Are the primers seated too deep on the shells that didn't go bang?
I had the same problem with my Browning Citori. Sometimes Federal 209's wouldn't go bang in the bottom barrel. At the Grand American Trapshoot, I talked to the guys at Browning and they looked at the gun. The end of the firing pin had a tiny crater in it. They replaced the firing pin and problem went away.
