Only this time it was my son breaking in his new Sav/Pac .45 on a well fed beanfield doe..he was and is all grins, giggles and smiles after witnessing first hand the authority of 60 grns of N120 and the 195BX... ;D The shot was a lasered 209 yds. She dropped so fast he intially thought he had missed her! ;D I was standing right next to him watching through the binos and assured him that the one shot/one kill record for the Sav/Pac 195BX .45 combo was still unbroken! ;D He had watched Dad put the smack down on a few with my .45 but there is nothing like actually pulling that trigger yourself on one! He actually thanked me several times afterwards for building this one for him.. ;D I told him a big thank you goes out ot Rossman as well..

Have him fill the freezer before he heads off to college. The herd still needs thinning under the deprivation permits. One other advantage is it will give us some info on loads, powders etc. before regular season if you have the opportunity. Keep us posted.

tar12, which Pac barrel/profile did you put on the Savage? The DD standard 25 .in 1-22 twist. I saw no point in fixing something that was not broken. ;D

Excellent! Surely a global moderator such as yourself knows how to post pictures!?!?! ;D You are correct! BUT, all of these years I have been using Kodak Easyshare...so simple even a Global moderator can use it! ;D Kodak sold out and I can not use the Kodak software anymore.. So I am awaiting a new USB cable for my camera smarty pants!

Edwardamason, I am very blessed to live in a area that is ate up with deer. Last year I found myself being offered a unique opportunity to help a farmer with depredation control on 2100 acres. I of course accepted the offer!

Careful Rick, you'll bring sabot use back to life if you keep that up. Glad to see Q get some action prior to going off to school.

I want to hear of another 378 yd DRT again.......or better,lol........ Gh I just scouted a field that has that potential. The lay of the land is such that it fall aways to the lower end of the field setting up a clear line of sight...I am working on designing and welding a solid portable shooting bench/stand for long range work.

You ought to do like those guys south of Anderson,IN. Just build you a blind to put on top of a grain wagon, They only use those trailers a couple of months out of the year if you can set it up where you can take it off and on. Then again I've seen those grain trailers go for $200 in decent shape. Then if your really a redneck,,,,

Rossman, I built a hunting blind on a utility trailer that I found for a cheap price. I put boat trailer jacks on each corner so I can level it up wherever I decide to park it. It is easy to hook up to my UTV to move around the property. It is 5' X 8' with carpet, windows, heater, office chairs, etc. I built it so I could take my daughter in law on her first hunt ever and be in the box with her. It works well. You might be a redneck if you haul your hunting blind built on a trailer to the woods on another trailer. Daughter -in -law first deer, 20 minutes into her first hunt ever Daughter-in-law 45 mins into her first hunt ever
